MoneyGenius Weekly Financial Literacy Courses
This August, MoneyGenius has lined up a series of programmes for your kids that will kick start their journey on Financial Education. These programs are carefully designed and crafted to suit the different age groups. Participants of these programs will learn through fun and informative hand-on activities, for the life skill that will benefit them for the rest of their life.
Mainly, we have the Little Genius Explorer programmes and the Young Genius Explorer programmes. Little Genius Explorer is specially designed for children between 6 to 12 years old. Children in this age group started to have allowances from their parents, thus it is important for them to
· know what money is and how to handle them
· make changes when purchasing items or foods in school
· understand the concepts of needs and wants
· responsible for the money
· be a savvy consumer
· start savings young
· understand the value of money
· learn how to do simple budgeting
Young Genius Explorer programmes are catered for children between 13 – 16 years old. Children in the age group have a better understanding on money and finance, and ready to learn much complex concepts in Financial Education that will prepare them for their working life. Thus, the course will prepare and introduce them to
· the various financial instruments
· the basic concept on financial planning
· spending, credit and borrowing
· relationship between risks and returns
· savings and investing
· good and bad debts
· taxation

The one hour previews sessions are scheduled on 26 July 2008 (2pm) and 27 July 2008 (11am).
